“All the heuristic code will get scrapped in favor of a Grok AI recommendation system…” – Elon Musk (@elonmusk)
■ TESLA ($346.97, +0.16%):
– At yesterday’s Las Mega event, Tesla introduced the Megapack 3 and the Megablock to the world. Elon also confirmed Tesla will make their own transformers for Megapack. Video by Juan Diego Gomez CEO of SunCompany.
Megapack 3 offers 5 MWh per unit, weighs 86,000 lbs, uses a 2.8-liter LFP battery cell, and features a simplified thermal bay with 78% fewer connections. It operates in -40°C to 60°C and is optimized for 8-hour applications. Production starts in Houston’s Megafactory in late 2026, with cells partly from Tesla’s Nevada 7 GWh facility.
With the Megablock, they are integrating the Megapack 3, a pre-engineered, medium-voltage energy storage system with 20 MWh of usable AC energy, 91% round-trip efficiency, and a 25-year lifespan with over 10,000 cycles. It installs 23% faster with 40% lower costs, using a flexible busbar assembly to eliminate above-ground cabling, achieving 248 MWh per acre. All pics by Sawyer Merritt (@SawyerMerritt). Great coverage, Sawyer! The full Las Megas presentation is in the sources section.
– Tesla Senior Regulatory Counsel, Casey Blaine, has contacted California regulators and is seeking approvals to operate Robotaxi at San Francisco International, San Jose Mineta International, and Oakland International airports. San Francisco International confirmed Tesla’s request for a permit, and San Jose’s airport noted inquiries but no application filed yet. Oakland’s airport has been in contact with Tesla’s team but hasn’t met.
– Tesla announced their new MultiPass program that allows Tesla owners to charge at non-Tesla DC fast chargers using their Tesla key card or app, with payments processed through their Tesla account. The program has launched in the Netherlands, with plans to expand to more countries soon.
Per Tesla’s Director of Charging, Max de Zegher (@MdeZegher), “Nobody likes creating more accounts with payment details and passwords. For charging, this can even mean needing a third-party charging card mailed to your house… Starting in the Netherlands today, your Tesla App and your existing Tesla keycard can start charging at third-party chargers. We’ll expand this to more countries quickly if customers love it. To make ownership effortless, the Tesla App should really be the only thing you need.” Agreed!
– TCI Transportation announced that California’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) reopens on September 9, 2025, offering expanded eligibility, simplified calculations, and increased funding for clean truck adoption. TCI is supporting HVIP voucher requests to facilitate customer leases and dedicated logistics partnerships using the Tesla Semi as a solution for sustainable freight transport.
– Tesla Turkey delivered 26,000 vehicles between January and August of this year. 8,730 units in August alone. Tesla is now the No.2 car brand in Turkey across all segments.

■ THE BORING COMPANY:
– FTE Future (Travel Experience) Hub’s Corporate Partners touring The Boring Company’s Vegas LOOP.
■ NEURALINK: N/A…
■ STARLINK:
– Today, Rogers of Canada announced the expansion of its Starlink Direct-to-Cell texting service, Rogers Satellite, providing three times more coverage than any other Canadian wireless carrier. The service now supports text messaging and text-to-911 in remote areas, including national parks like Yoho, Banff, and Algonquin, and isolated locations such as Telegraph Creek, BC, Brochet, MB, and North Twin Island, NU. The free beta trial is open to all Canadians and runs until October 2025, after which the service will be included in the Rogers Ultimate Plan or available for $15/month, with a $5/month discount for beta participants for the first 12 months.
Per Michael Nicolls (@michaelnicollsx), VP of Starlink Engineering, “Starlink direct to cell now serving Canada below 58 deg latitude, providing a huge expansion in mobile coverage.”
– 3G Media .TV celebrated the successful return of the Maryland Cycling Classic this past weekend. They supported production for both the main event and the inaugural women’s race. Their setup included two fully equipped motos with bonded cell and Starlink connectivity, RF and bonded cell handheld cameras at the finish line, and two big screen feeds positioned around the course.
– SpaceX will receive $302 million from the $42.5 billion BEAD program to deploy Starlink to over 205,000 locations across 36 states and territories, including Guam and American Samoa. Average cost will be $1,470 per location. Amazon’s Project Kuiper will get $124 million to serve over 200,000 locations.
– Per Ben Longmier (@longmier), SpaceX Sr Director or Satellite Engineering, “Compared to the Gen 1 Direct to Cell, Gen 2 will be 20x the through put to the user and 100x the overall system throughput.”
– Air France announced they have activated Starlink on board two Embraer 190s, two Airbus A220s, and one Airbus A350. The service is complimentary on equipped aircraft across all cabins, requiring login via a free Flying Blue account (creatable onboard); it supports unlimited simultaneous connections on smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The service will expand to 30% of the fleet by end-2025 and the full fleet by end-2026. La Première passengers connect without login, Flying Blue Ultimate and La Première members get free access.
– Today, the FCC approved SpaceX’s request to increase the Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) for two Starlink dish models, UT3-V1 and UT3-V2, likely the standard and Mini dishes. The standard dish’s EIRP will rise from 42.1 to 43.4 decibel watts, and the Mini dish’s from 33.2 to 39.2 dBW. This should enhance internet speeds and reliability for users. This applies to both stationary and in-motion use. SpaceX submitted reports to ensure no radiation hazards or radio interference. It’s unclear if the upgrade applies to existing or new hardware.
■ X:
– After two years, X has finally updated its open-source ‘For You’ algorithm code on GitHub. Note it is still labeled twitter/the-algorithm… The updated X algorithm reveals that Tweepcred, a reputation score based on user behavior, is still there and it still significantly impacts post visibility. New accounts start with a negative score, limiting their reach.
Actions reducing visibility include offensive text, spammy behavior, NSFW content, poor text quality, all-caps posts, and external links, though the definition of “offensive” is unclear. Community Notes are exempt from link penalties to support sourcing, creating inconsistency. Engaging with or tagging non-followers also lowers reach, discouraging interaction with new users, which contradicts X’s “town square” ethos.
Boosting Tweepcred is challenging, especially for accounts with 3,000+ followers that aren’t mega accounts, as they fall into a “Dead Zone” reliant on reposts by larger accounts. To improve visibility, X recommends engaging with high-follower users, maintaining a balanced follower ratio, and posting clear, niche-focused content without excessive hashtags or mentions of competing platforms like Facebook or Instagram.
The algorithm’s complexity and restrictions, such as penalizing external links and non-follower interactions, hinder organic growth and interaction for most users. Alex Finn’s (@AlexFinnX) thread link is in the sources section and here is my post from earlier.
Per Elon, “We’ve open sourced the X algorithm not because we think it’s smart, but to show it’s MANY flaws! Every week, we try to make it better, not always succeeding, but to be as transparent as we are with Community Notes. Like democracy, it’s the worst algorithm, except for all the others.
This is just a snapshot of the current situation. All the heuristic code will get scrapped in favor of a Grok AI recommendation system.”
– Nikita Bier (@nikitabier), head of product at X, joined the company two months ago when the X app ranked No. 78 in the Apple App Store. Apple hasn’t featured the 20yo app in years. Today, the app reached No. 5. Per Nikita, “…our team spent nights & weekends rebuilding our systems to support our next era of growth. And now, it’s finally starting to pay off… There will be certainly be volatility and setbacks along the way, but my favorite app is now on its way to everyone’s home screen.”
– XMoney will use Pinwheel for direct deposits. Pinwheel is a New York-based fintech company that provides a payroll connectivity API platform. H/T Aaron (@aaronp613).
– X Corp. Japan has adopted Findy to enhance software engineer hiring for feature developments. Findy is a Japan-based IT/Web engineer recruitment platform that uses a unique algorithm to match highly skilled engineers with companies by quantify engineer skillsets via GitHub analysis, supports OSS-active talent, and visualizes AI expertise.
■ xAI:
– You can now give your videos a voice with Grok Imagine. Generate a video with Imagine, then select “Speech”.
– A conversation with Elon and writer Andrew Curran (@AndrewCurran_)
Andrew: “OpenAI is helping make an AI generated feature length animated movie that will be released in theaters in 2026. Total production time: nine months. Total budget: $30 million.”
Elon: “Achievable. But actual budget is more like $30 billion in compute, lmao. 30 minutes episodes by grok in 4 to 6 months. Also had a good conversation with the makers of Eve Online. We discussed the possibility of collaborating on an AI game. Something that only AI could do.”
– The xAI Memphis Team (@xAIMemphis), Elon, and Brent Mayo (@BrentM_SpaceX) inside Colossus 2. In case you were wondering, Elon’s shirt says Type III or Die Trying… Kardashev Scale. The second pic is Brent and Juan Valencia, Per Brent, “The man, the myth and the legend… Juan Valencia came to the dark side.” Maybe Juan left xAI and just couldn’t stay away… idk. Either way, looked like a great day at Colossus 2.
■ ELON NEWS:
– Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) outlined potential rivals in an Irish presidential run: Gerry (78, tied to his party), Bertie (75, same), Enda (74, same), all governed by party loyalties over public sentiment. Per Conor, “Regardless of what the public outside of their parties feel. These parties govern themselves vs govern the people. Or me, 35. Young, active, passionate, fresh skin in the game. I listen. I support. I adapt. I have no affiliation/bias/favoritism toward any party. They would genuinely be held to account regarding the current sway of public feeling. I’d even put it all to vote. There’d be votes every week to make sure. I can fund. It would not be me in power as President, people of Ireland. It would be me and you.”
Per Elon, “I think you could take them all single-handed. Not even fair!”
