To the Moon! Godspeed, Artemis II!” by Carlos (@cnunezimages).

SpaceX has confidentially filed for a U.S. initial public offering registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. SpaceX will most likely seek to raise more than $50 billion with a valuation of more than $1.75 trillion; the largest IPO on record. The filing puts it on track for a June listing. SpaceX nor Elon have confirmed this. Here are the current knows and expectations:

  • Confidential filing allows regulator feedback and changes before public disclosure.

  • Offering details (number of shares and price range) expected in later filing.

  • Testing-the-waters investor meetings with executives scheduled this month.

  • Banks for senior roles: Bank of America Corp., Citigroup Inc., Goldman Sachs Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley.

  • Barclays Plc handles UK orders; Deutsche Bank AG and UBS Group AG handle European orders.

  • Royal Bank of Canada manages Canada orders; Mizuho Financial Group Inc. handles Asia; Macquarie Group Ltd. handles Australia.

  • SpaceX is considering dual-class share structure giving insiders (such as Musk) extra voting power.

  • Up to 30% of offering potentially allocated to retail/small investors.

  • 2026 revenue approaching $20 billion (mainly Falcon 9 launches and Starlink); xAI under $1 billion.

  • Proforma EBITDA expected to exceed $7.5 billion.

– David Goldman (@davesgoldman), VP of Satellite Policy at SpaceX , alleged on behalf of SpaceX that Amazon is violating its approved orbital debris mitigation plan and license conditions under FCC Docket SAT-MOD-20211207-00186. Amazon dispensed satellites at higher altitudes (50-90 km) than authorized without adequate coordination or information sharing, increasing collision risk. Amazon represented satellites would insert near 400 km but launched into orbits above 450 km without approval. SpaceX states Amazon and Arianespace can adjust launch plans to comply and asked Amazon to prevent irreparable harm.

– The U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC) announced a $178.5 million task order award to SpaceX under the SDA-4 (Space Development Agency) portion of the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Phase 3 Lane 1 program. The two missions will deploy dozens of missile tracking satellites built by Sierra Space (@SierraSpaceCo), scheduled no earlier than the second half of fiscal year 2027 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and Vandenberg Space Force Base. This follows prior SDA-2 and SDA-3 awards to SpaceX.

– On the OLM at Pad 2, SpaceX is testing Pharmacade stainless-steel cleaner. These test squares may be a sign for a very bright future for the OLMs… Pharmacade quickly removes rust from exterior stainless-steel surfaces, is safe to use, odorless, cleanroom-friendly and leaves no mess or hazardous waste.

– SpaceX sponsored the FIRST Engineering Inspiration Award at the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Indiana Robotics competition at Columbus East High School in Columbus, Indiana. Fishers High School’s FRC #5010 Tiger Dynasty robotics team (@FRC5010) won the award and earned finalist honors. They competed against 38 of Indiana’s top robotics teams. Elon on Delta Airlines choosing Amazon LEO over Starlink, “Delta doesn’t realize how much this will affect them…”

Per Mikołaj Paweł Sapek, AI & Sustainability Associate at Nordic Sustainability, “I officially feel like I’m living in the future. Flew from Paris to Turin today with Air France and had a total “wow” moment. Since I’m a Flying Blue member, I got to try their new Starlink Wi-Fi, and it’s actually insane. This wasn’t just “checking emails” speed. I actually spent the flight working with Claude Code at 30,000 feet. Turns out, it was Mont Blanc looking spectacular.”
