“The mind of humanity…” – Elon Musk (@elonmusk)
■ TESLA ($355.28, -1.81%):
– Tesla Optimus Director and Lead, Konstantinos Laskaris (@K0nstantin0s_), posted the above pic of the Optimus Team and compared Tesla to a Formula One car whose peak acceleration increases with speed due to aerodynamic downforce. “Our goal is to get Optimus to high-volume production as fast as possible. If your passion is designing drive systems, electronics, sensors, dynamic harness, cameras, body or hand structures and you want to overcome micron tolerancing challenges, and accelerate the scalability of humanoid robot manufacturing, this is the opportunity for you!”
– Tesla’s Country Director, Richi Hashimoto (@star_commet), was interviewed by EVsmart Blog after they awarded the Model Y Japan EV of the Year 2025. Hashimoto discussed the Model Y’s success due to its design appeal and improved quietness, which attracted new customers. Tesla plans to expand retail showrooms to 35 (including pop-ups). And as reported last week, FSD is expected to launch in Japan this year, pending regulatory approval. Hashimoto also stated Tesla plans to double its directly operated service centers in Japan from the current 14 to over 30 this year, mainly near showrooms and using turnkey properties for quick, low-cost setup. The expansion is to handle rising demand for inspections and maintenance after 2025 sales surged 90% to ~10,600 vehicles.
Per Elon, “Tesla is making a big investment in Japan with service & Superchargers. Many of the parts in Teslas are made in Japan. Panasonic has been our biggest strategic supplier over the past 2 decades.”
– Good Faith Energy & Roofing (@GoodFaithEnergy) at the Tesla Legacy West Showroom in Plano, Texas. They hosted a Tesla Solar event and discussed Tesla Energy’s solar panels and roofing, Powerwalls, and more.
– Christina Francis, Sr. Staff Fire & Regulatory Specialist at Tesla, was at the EEI Loss Control / Fire Protection Meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she presented an update on the Megapack 3 and the new integrated Megablock configuration. Key points included expanded calorimeter testing, real-world gas characterization, root-cause analysis from prior incidents, and upcoming public fleet-wide fire-incident data. She focused on first-responder safety, zero-repeatable incidents, and design improvements using LFP chemistry.
– Copec Flux inaugurated the Proyecto Cousiño solar plant in Buin, Chile. The project includes 2.9 MWp of solar PV capacity paired with three Megapack 2XLs for 12 MW battery storage. Copec Flux is Tesla’s first Certified Service Partner in Chile, with five certified technicians. Juan Cristóbal González, CEO of Copec Flux, said the project demonstrates the role of storage in managing renewable energy and reinforcing grid flexibility.
– I spotted a lot of AI running around Austin this weekend.
Per Eon, “Simulation is used to reproduce extremely rare or dangerous scenarios where we don’t have enough data, despite millions of cars on the road. For example: you’re driving down a narrow two-lane road when a pedestrian trips and falls into the road. The right decision is to slow down as much as possible and choose a glancing impact into the oncoming car, rather than run over and kill the pedestrian. This is the classic Trolley Problem, but with a vast number of variations.”
– Josh spotted Robotaxi validation cars in Garland, Texas. This the northeastern part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Two days ago, Mellanie Portillo (@Mell_Port), Tesla DFW Robotaxi Operations Manager, posted the Robotaxi Operations team is growing and they need Support Specialist. It’s coming soon.
– The Tesla Chicago South Loop team. Per Store GM Lauren Karim. “Celebrating my first EOQ! Proud to lead this group as we continue to drive strong order growth and elevate the customer experience. Their passion for building a world of amazing abundance is contagious.”

■ SPACEX:
– Early this morning, launch 39 of Falcon 9 Transporter 16 took place from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. This was SpaceX’s 16th dedicated rideshare flight to a sun-synchronous orbit with 119 small microsatellites and nanosatellites for commercial and government customers. Orbital transfer vehicles are carrying eight of those payloads to be deployed at a later time. This was the 12th flight for first stage booster B1093. It previously launched SDA T1TL-B, SDA T1TL-C, and nine Starlink missions. The booster landed on drone ship Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific Ocean. All 119 payloads were successfully deployed.

– This past Saturday, the Starship V3 Cryogenic Test Stand was transported from production to Massey’s test site. Pic by Amy Doehring (@mymatrixplug). Follow Amy and support her work!
– Reuters is reporting that Morgan Stanley’s E*Trade is in talks with SpaceX to lead the IPO for retail investors. This of course being said by “people familiar with matter…” They are saying this could give E*Trade the majority of smaller-ticket orders and crowd out Robinhood Markets, SoFi, and Fidelity which are still in discussions but not tied to the underwriting banks. If this is true, many retail investors will be angry. Fun fact, use all of them, but E*Trade. Go figure. SpaceX nor Elon have confirmed any of this.
– Sunday I went by Elon’s facilities in Bastrop, Texas. The south end construction site has widen by at least two more rows of pillars. I am still thinking this a solar factory for the AI data centers. As I continued north A found that they have started construction on the 157k sq ft Parking Garage. It is exactly where I said it would be. Right past it, the massive land clearing has been leveled. I think this will be the Semiconductor R&D and Advanced Packaging Facility and part of the Terafab Project. The post above has a subscriber thread with tons of progress pics on all three areas. You really get a sense of the scale.
– SpaceX Recovery Vessel Doug at Port Canaveral Sunday night. Doug is mainly used for fairing recovery and sometimes supports booster/drone ship operations. It is named after NASA astronaut Doug Hurley; commander of SpaceX Crew Dragon Demo-2 in 2020.

– On Sunday, March 29th, Starlink satellite 34343 experienced an on-orbit anomaly at ~560 km altitude, resulting in loss of communications. Analysis shows no new risk to the International Space Station (@Space_Station), its crew, or NASA’s Artemis II mission, and no risk to this morning’s Transporter-16 mission. SpaceX is monitoring the satellite and debris while coordinating with NASA (@NASA) and the United States Space Force (@USSpaceForce ). Teams are determining root cause and will implement corrective actions.
– SpaceX has provided a Starlink page that provides guidance for other satellite operators on coordinating conjunctions to maintain safe and sustainable orbital environment. To enable coordination, they need to register for an account on space-track.org, they must sign a data sharing agreement, publish contact information, publish ephemeris, and publish active/maneuverable status. Starlink collision avoidance operators are available 24/7. They can contact SpaceX via the webpage by logging in, select “Directory” from the Operator drop-down menu, lookup “SpaceX” under Organizations, click load to see “Starlink Operations Phone” and “High Urgency” email. Starlink ephemerides with position/velocity covariance and 72-hour prediction, are updated three times daily.
– Aer Lingus announced that it has equipped its first aircraft with Starlink across all cabins. The first aircraft is Airbus A330, registration EI-EIN. The First passengers experienced it on flight EI105 from Dublin to New York JFK on March 29th. Rollout has started with their long-haul fleet with the expectation of all enabled by early Q1 2027. They begin on North America routes then European destinations. Short-haul fleet will also be upgraded in phases.
Per Lynne Embleton, Aer Lingus CEO, “Introducing Starlink on our first aircraft is a big moment for us in Aer Lingus. It means our customers can browse, download and stream at speeds as fast as, or quicker than, they’d get at home.”
– PhilSEED (Philippine Social Empowerment and Equity Development Foundation Inc.) announced that @UNconnected.org and Public Interest Registry (PIR) have equipped the PhilSEED Center for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship with Starlink. Per PhilSEED, “Now, our agricultural scholars enjoy seamless access to vital digital resources, global insights, and worldwide mentors. – Florence Best (@BabyModeuse), X Global Luxury Strategy Lead, at the AI x Fashion Lab Paris event with @GalaxyMindful. Key insights included millions of daily posts on X as real-time cultural gold, the Grok button plus mentions giving instant context on any trend, Trend Genius turning unpredictable peaks into instant brand activation, and Grok Imagine creating visuals and videos at the speed of culture.
– Any Japanese content in your feed? Of course there is. X’s Grok “For You” algorithm has recently started surfacing more Japanese posts to many international users because X has improved its built-in Grok translation tool. Grok is now automatically detecting, translating, and recommending high-engagement Japanese posts directly in the algorithm. X is running an experiment of sorts by removing language barriers so good content from Japan shows up more easily for everyone. Keep in mind, and I have said this man times before, Japan is X’s second largest market behind the U.S. It has the most active user base.
Per Elon, “Grok automatically translating and recommending 𝕏 posts from other languages is starting to work… Only with Grok understanding every language and recommending content can this be done. This has been a long-time goal.”
Per X Head of Product, Nikita Bier (@nikitabier), “The largest cultural exchange in history just dropped.”
Per xAI Technical Staff Member, Ray Hotate (@rayhotate), “Basically! I’ve built a system that automatically translates Japanese meme posts into English so English-speaking users can read and enjoy them. And any comments or reactions written in English get automatically translated back into Japanese and delivered straight to the original Japanese poster! Meme Post Diplomacy!”
■ xAI:
– xAI Palo Alto brought in a mariachi band to celebrate the launch of new ad technology.
Per X Head of Product, Nikita Bier (@nikitabier), “Never a boring day on this app—or at the company that makes this app.”
Per xAI Chief Revenue Officer, Jon Shulkin (@jon), “Making ads great again. What better way to celebrate our new ad tech than with a mariachi band at xAI HQ.”
– “Never felt so safe…” by Noémi Khachian (@NoemiKhachian). If you were up to something, you would literally think twice if you saw this truck…
– Ross Nordeen (@rpoo) has left xAI. If Manuel Kroiss (@makro_ai) left, as many have suspected, Ross was the last of the co-founders.
– X Creators put together an X Article for Grok Imagine; The ultimate guide to Grok Imagine videos. Here is a quick breakdown:
Three generation paths:
-
Text-to-video: describe the scene, action, and camera movement.
-
Image-to-video: upload or generate an image first, then add a short motion prompt (e.g., “calm organic movement, slow pull out”).
-
Reference-to-video: upload up to 7 images for style or character consistency.
Settings include aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 3:2, 2:3, 1:1), duration options, and quality (480p or 720p). Extend Video feature allows you to select any frame from a generated clip and add a continuation prompt to chain clips while preserving motion, lighting, and characters for longer sequences.
Prompt tips:
-
use subject + style/mood + lighting + camera movement.
-
Keep image-to-video prompts short.
-
Run the same prompt multiple times for variations.
-
Use wider shots and slower movements for people.
-
Reference specific styles like “Blade Runner mood” or “Studio Ghibli feel.”
■ ELON NEWS:
– Today, Delaware Democrat Chancery Court Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick released a letter announcing she will no longer preside over three lawsuits involving Elon and his companies after she was caught on LinkedIn showing “support” for a post celebrating his defeat in a separate California civil fraud trial. In the letter, McCormick denied bias or supporting the post, stating she did not read it fully, and any reaction was accidental or not done by her. She denied the recusal motion to try and save face, but granted the motion for reassignment of the three cases to other Vice Chancellors via a random draw. Counsel must contact her chambers for the reassignment hearing, and signers of the motion must appear.
The post by Harry Plotkin the McCormick supported has been deleted from LinkedIn.
