TESLA $TSLA ($439.62, -1.26%):

– Tesla at the Nevo EV Show last weekend in the RDS Simmonscourt! Pics by Jessica Kimy, Sr Event Coordinator for Tesla Ireland.

– For September, the Model Y and 3 were officially the world’s Top 2 best-selling EVs. Model Y hit 141,000 units, while the Model 3 hit 67,000 units.

– Tesla’s Supercharging Director Max de Zegher (@MdeZegher) announced that Google Maps now shows live Supercharger availability for non-Tesla EVs. He is pushing for adding real-time wait times, forecasts, and dynamic re-routing—features in the Tesla Trip Planner since 2017.

– Here is Tesla’s SEC filing for the issuance of Elon’s 2025 CEO Performance Award, comprising 423.7 million restricted shares divided into 12 tranches, each requiring achievement of specific market capitalization milestones.

Starting at $2 trillion for the first tranche, followed by nine increments of $500 billion up to $7.5 trillion, and $1 trillion each for the final two to reach $8.5 trillion. This is paired with operational goals including 20 million annual vehicle deliveries, 10 million full self-driving subscriptions, 1 million humanoid robots, 1 million Robotaxis, and $400 billion in adjusted EBITDA over four consecutive quarters, with the last two tranches additionally contingent on developing a CEO succession plan.

The shares, held in Elon’s revocable trust and voted by proxy to prevent direct control, vest in 2033 if earned by September 3rd, 2030, or in 2035 if earned thereafter, subject to Elon’s continuous executive service and no guaranteed salary or cash bonus.

– For October, Tesla China sales totaled 26,006 vehicles, down -35.8% YoY and -63.6% MoM. Model Y sold 19,488 units and Model 3 at 6,518 units (+52% YoY). Exports from China surged to 35,491 units, the highest in two years, including 19,074 Model Y units (up 214% YoY).

– The Tesla CyBear Team! Per Samuel Higgwe, sculptor artist, architectural designer, and 3D visualizer at Tesla, “After 2.5 years of design leadership, I’m thrilled to see this symbolic monument come to life — a fusion of strength and spirit, the CyBear stands as a tribute to resilience and innovation. Inspired by the California Grizzly Bear, it reflects Tesla’s design language and drive for excellence. This milestone project was made possible by an incredible team of fabricators, architectural and construction experts here at Tesla. From early concept through fabrication and final installation, it’s been a journey of collaboration, precision, and pride.”

THE BORING COMPANY:

– TBC received fines totaling over $493,000 from the Clark County Water Reclamation District for dumping “toxic” drilling fluids and spoils from its Las Vegas tunneling operations into sewer system manholes. The violations damaged county infrastructure, necessitating remediation of 12 cubic yards of drilling mud and waste at a sewage treatment facility, with over $130,000 of the penalties covering those costs and the balance addressing emergency responses and infractions. Yikes!

NEURALINK: N/A…

■ STARLINK:

– SpaceX’s Sr. Director, Market Access & Development, Ryan Goodnight (@ryangoodnight) and Elijah Junior Qwabe of eMedia at the Africa Tech Festival 2025 discussing how Starlink can bridge South Africa’s digital divide, emphasizing the existing demand for high-speed internet in rural and underserved areas. They highlighted two critical requirements: achieving regulatory certainty for international operators through eased Black Economic Empowerment compliance via equity equivalent investment programs, and eliminating entry barriers such as hardware import bans and licensing delays, as evident by ICASA’s ongoing policy reviews. SpaceX has pledged $146 million investment to support broadband expansion while adhering to local transformation goals.

– Yesterday, Best Buy dropped their Starlink Mini price to $230. Today, SpaceX dropped the price to $229 for the Mini and $279 for the Standard. Looks like all major retailers have suit. For those who already have a Residential Plan, remember to keep an eye out for an email offering you a FREE Mini for being a loyal customer. If you are purchasing, I suggest you do it via the Starlink website and use a referral for a free month of service.

– SpaceX has also introduced Residential 100Mbps, a $40/mo. Starlink plan available in select U.S. regions including Nebraska, Minnesota, and Nevada. It offers capped download speeds of 100 Mbps with unlimited data and unrestricted upload speeds. The company describes it as a simpler alternative for smaller households of 2–3 people requiring only basic activities like web browsing, video calls, and HD streaming.

– Community Notes announced an experimental algorithm update testing an enhancement to surface significantly more helpful notes on X posts. Visibility is limited to a random test group for feedback collection. The update, the “Gaussian Model”, aims to refine note ranking through probabilistic modeling to improve accuracy and relevance. Basically aggregating note helpfulness via geometric mean across 50 spectrum points (25 per side) with Gaussian smoothing, a dot-product prior (exp(λ · point · note_factor)), and overweighted Not Helpful votes.

■ xAI:

– X Japan CEO Ayumu Matsuyama (@ayumu_matsuyama) met Mika (@m) at the xAI Palo Alto HQ.
