It previously launched KF-01. The booster landed on drone ship Just Read the Instructions in the Atlantic Ocean. Flacon Sun transit pic by @John_Winkopp for What about it!? (@FelixSchlang). This launch deployed several payloads from NASA, which are:

NASA’s IMAP (Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe): This is a NASA mission to study interactions between solar wind and local interstellar medium. Carrying a suite of 10 scientific instruments to investigate how particles are accelerated, determine their composition, as well as help to advance space weather forecasting models.

NOAA’s Space Weather Follow On – Lagrange 1 (SWFO-L1): It will deliver real-time operational measurements of solar wind plasma, suprathermal ions, magnetic fields, and coronal mass ejections, enabling 24/7 forecasting of geomagnetic storms with 1-hour lead times to protect power grids, satellites, aviation, and infrastructure from solar flares, particles, and disruptions.

NASA’s Carruthers Geocorona Observatory: It charts spatial and temporal changes in exosphere shape, size, and density—extending up to 150,000 km from Earth—for the first time globally, to study solar wind interactions, space weather effects on atmospheric loss, and fundamental physics.

– Last night, Starship 38 rolled back to Mega Bay 2 where it will undergo pre-Flight 11 checkouts. Pic from @LabPadre live feed. We should soon see the Star-Stool removed from the OLM for the last time, as they prep the mount for launch.

– Cameron County and the City of Starbase announced a partnership on yesterday, to restore Boca Chica Beach, addressing 5-20 feet of annual erosion. The Interlocal Cooperation Agreement enables joint efforts in dune restoration, cleanups, wildlife preservation, and securing funding, while ensuring public access. Starbase received dune protection authority from Cameron County, compliant with Texas laws. The County approved the agreement and Starbase will review it on September 25. This past weekend, Starbase in partnership with Cameron County held a Beach Cleanup at Boca Chica Beach and Hwy 4.

– Last week Duke University Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) co-hosted four Duke Alum SpaceX engineers Asher Early, Alison Korn, Josh Kramer, and Atharva Vispute alongside Duke AERO and Duke University Motorsports. The students got to gain valuable insight on the experience of being in industry as an engineer. The engineers gave advice for undergrads that look towards a future in aerospace.

– Per Jon Edwards (@edwards345), SpaceX VP of Falcon and Dragon, “The Falcon 9 fairing serves as a hypersonic aerodynamic shield that deploys into an autonomously controlled spacecraft/reentry vehicle that lands softly in the ocean, recovered, and reused many times.”

THE BORING COMPANY:

– According to Bastrop City Manager Sylvia Carrillo-Trevino, The Boring Company is in discussions withe city and could soon construct a series of pedestrian tunnels that would connect the city’s expanding above-ground trail system. So far they have talked about three tunnels, just a few miles from TBC HQ. One may even connect to my go spot on the way to Giga Texas, Buc-ee’s! Hopefully we get more info soon.

– Lane Rogers attended the Tesla Owners Club Fall Social in Bastrop, Texas, Saturday, at The Boring Bodega in Hyperloop Plaza. The event featured Tesla owners from San Antonio and Austin. You can see The Boring Company HQ and just above the fence line a Prufrock. X Headquarters and the Starlink Terminal facility are seen as well.

NEURALINK:

– US Democratic Senators Chuck Schumer, Maria Cantwell, and Ed Markey introduced the Management of Individuals’ Neural Data Act of 2025, directing the FTC to establish standards for protecting consumers’ neural data. The bill addresses concerns about companies like Neuralink collecting and using brain signals without oversight, potentially to predict and manipulate behavior. It mandates the FTC to investigate neural data abuses, collaborate with stakeholders to create governance structures, and ensure privacy to prevent exploitation, such as through manipulative ads or insurance discrimination.

■ STARLINK:

– Expereo’s Brazil Country Manager, Pedro Cypriano, announced a partnership with Louisiana Pacific (LP) Building Solutions to supply Starlink connectivity to 16 remote North American mills. The deployment took six weeks from order to going live. This gives LP seamless backup with automatic failover and real-time data reporting to enhance operations and maintain competitiveness. The pic above is LPs mill in Jasper, Texas.

– Air France plans to equip 30% of its fleet with free Starlink by the end of the year and the full fleet by end of 2026. As of September, three Embraer E190s, three Airbus A220-300s, and three A350-900s are installed, with the first A350 entering service soon, followed by the first Boeing 777 this fall.

– Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) passenger transport company plans to equip two additional trains, the No.33/34 from Aktobe to Almaty and the No.21/22 from Kyzylorda to Semey, with Starlink for their passengers. They already have Starlink implemented in a six-car EP3D electric train operating as the Burabay Express between Astana and Borovoe. Starlink also enhances KTZ’s safety by enabling real-time remote monitoring with in-train cameras and precise location tracking.

– The French city of Nice is evaluating Starlink for its future resilient metropolitan communications network. After the 2020 Storm Alex that severed communications for citizens and emergency services, they tested Orange’s Eutelsat-based emergency kits, but Nice now favors Starlink. Senator Patricia Demas emphasized that only low-Earth orbit solutions like Starlink can effectively replace terrestrial infrastructure and satisfy crisis response performance needs. The EU is actively pushing their IRIS² alternative that reduces reliance on foreign providers, but it is delayed until 2030. The Nice metropolitan authority is not waiting.

– Telecentro signed an agreement with Catamarca Province’s government under the Educational Connectivity Plan to deliver Starlink to 300 rural schools for stable, secure connectivity in areas lacking fiber or mobile networks. The antenna delivery was finalized on September 19th during a ceremony attended by Governor Raúl Jalil, Education Minister Nicolás Rosales Matienzo, and Telecentro CEO Fernando Herrera. As of the 19th, Telecentro had contacted 70% of targeted schools to begin rollout.

■ 𝕏:

– New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer (NTFW SS) 2026 generated 6.1 million posts globally on X, a 79% increase from YoY, yielding $100 million in Earned Media Value (EMV). Top mentioned brands were Calvin Klein ($7.44M EMV, 30% of total, boosted by BTS’s Jungkook appearance), COS (leveraging APAC actors), Ralph Lauren, Coach, and Off-White.

– The X Global Government Affairs account states that Google is adopting a free speech support system similar to Community Notes. Only took 3 years. CN has become the industry standard in which to reduce the spread of mis-information by decreasing engagement and virality.

– X is encouraging Governor Newsom to veto California Senate Bill 771, which would hold social media platforms liable for penalties if their algorithms are deemed to facilitate “hateful” content. According to the California State Senate’s analysis, this bill violates the First Amendment rights of both users and social media platforms. It is concerning that California legislators, who are sworn to uphold the Constitution, have supported SB 771 despite its clear infringement on free speech protections. Passing this bill risks wasting taxpayer funds on inevitable legal challenges to defend its constitutionality.
