– Tesla China showcased showcased their products at the 2025 China Industry Expo in the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai. On hand was Optimus, the Model YL & 3, and Cybertruck. Tesla China’s insurance registrations so far for September show a total of 47,000 units, a 25% increase from the prior three weeks. For last week, the Model Y led with 10,390 units, followed by the Model 3 at 6,060, and the Model Y L at 850. H/T @Tslachan.

– Tesla shareholders, it is now time to vote in favor of The Board naturally has their recommendations on all proposals to vote for or against. Big items include Elon’s pay-package and investing in xAI. Shareholders should have received control numbers to vote, with instructions available in proxy materials. You can click HERE if you have not voted received and email yet.

– Joe Tegtmeyer (@JoeTegtmeyer) shared recent City of Austin permits for the Cortex 2’s Chiller Plant, Underground Mains, and Sprinkler System at Giga Texas. The permits, newly filed and under approval, indicate active planning for the cooling system essential to the supercomputer expansion.

– According to the latest IRS guidelines, to claim the federal EV tax credit, leased vehicles must be ordered and delivered by September 30th. There is a limited supply left in stock for the Model 3 and Y. For financed or cash purchases, orders must be placed by September 30th, but delivery can occur later. Eligibility may be affected by future IRS guideline changes though. So order now and take delivery as soon as possible is recommended.

– SETI Park (@seti_park) discovered Tesla’s US12420879B1 patent for the “True Unboxed Process 2.0,” has been granted. It outlines the Tesla’s True Unboxed Process 2.0 automated system for attaching exterior vehicle parts.

  • Uses automated assembly cell with fixtures, global datum for alignment, vacuum/other clamps.

  • Robotic adhesive arm applies structural adhesive to parts or vehicle structure.

  • Robotic positioner compresses adhesive, aligning parts to nominal position, compensating for irregularities.

  • Tacking applicator applies self-piercing datums/hot melt adhesive concurrently for ongoing assembly.

  • Supports serial or concurrent part installation to design-specified positions.

  • Adhesive gap accommodates differential heating/material properties.

– Per Elon on the proposed compensation plan, “It’s not about “compensation”, but about me having enough influence over Tesla to ensure safety if we build millions of robots. If I can just get kicked out in the future by activist shareholder advisory firms who don’t even own Tesla shares themselves, I’m not comfortable with that future.”

– Tesla is offering Canadian buyers of new Model 3 pre-existing inventory a choice between a $5k discount or unlimited free lifetime Supercharging if delivery is taken by September 30th. The discount applies automatically at checkout, but buyers must contact Tesla post-order to opt for free Supercharging. Use a referral and get three free months of FSD. H/T @DriveTeslaca.

– The 144 Megapack, 50 MW / 536 MWh, site adjacent to the Limondale solar farm near Balranald in south-west NSW, has registered with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to begin hold point testing. This is the first project to receive a Long-Term Energy Service Agreement under the NSW Long Duration Storage tender. Full commissioning is targeted for the end of this year.

SPACEX:

– A Local Notice to Mariners (LNM) has been posted for Flight 11! No earlier than October 6th starting at 6:15 p.m. CT.

– SpaceX’s Lead Space Operations Engineer, Anna Menon (@annawmenon), along with SpaceX alum, Yuri Kubo, have been announced as a members of the newest NASA astronaut class.

Anna flew to orbit with Jarred Isaacman (@rookisaacman) and crew on board Polaris Dawn last year. At SpaceX she manages crew operations development, serves as Mission Director and crew communicator in mission control, led Dragon crew capability implementation, created the crew communicator role, and developed emergency responses for vehicle issues like fires or depressurization. Previously, she worked seven years at NASA as a biomedical flight controller for the International Space Station.

At SpaceX, Yuri started as a ground controller and moved through as automation lead, launch conductor, launch director for Falcon 9, and managed control room operations at Vandenberg Space Force Base. He later became director of avionics for the Starshield program, overseeing satellite design, build, launch, and operations. And finally, he served as director of Ground Segment, leading the team responsible for all SpaceX communication antennas and coordinating third-party antennas for Dragon, Falcon 9, Starship, and Starlink operations. Yuri now serves as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Electric Hydrogen. Pic is of him and SpaceX alum Dolly Singh.

Per Gwynne Shotwell (@Gwynne_Shotwell), “Congratulations to all of the new NASA astronaut candidates! I’m excited for all of you to explore the cosmos on the way to making life multiplanetary! And a special shout-out to Anna and Yuri – we are beyond proud of our SpaceX family!

Carrying a suite of 10 scientific instruments to investigate how particles are accelerated, determine their composition, as well as help to advance space weather forecasting models.

NASA’s Carruthers Geocorona Observatory: It charts spatial and temporal changes in exosphere shape, size, and density—extending up to 150,000 km from Earth—for the first time globally, to study solar wind interactions, space weather effects on atmospheric loss, and fundamental physics.

NOAA’s Space Weather Follow On – Lagrange 1 (SWFO-L1): It will deliver real-time operational measurements of solar wind plasma, suprathermal ions, magnetic fields, and coronal mass ejections, enabling 24/7 forecasting of geomagnetic storms with 1-hour lead times to protect power grids, satellites, aviation, and infrastructure from solar flares, particles, and disruptions.

– Per Mltech Marine Connect, “16 hours on the sea. 8 hours out, 8 hours back riding on the Tanker Maisha to the Singapore Anchorage, a designated area off the coast of Singapore where ships anchor while awaiting port clearance. No phone signal and no internet connection. After completing the installation of Starlink and integrating the ship’s IT & communication systems, that first moment when the network came alive was priceless. Starlink fully online, seamlessly switching to VSAT GX100NX and FBB 500 as backup. Moments like these remind us how critical connectivity is — even in the middle of the ocean…”
