■ THE BORING COMPANY:
– Michel’s (@Mic_VegasSphere) Vegas LOOP update hit the Westgate Station build site this weekend. The area is being cleaned up and the square concrete slabs that cover the underground pits have arrived. Follow and support Michel for his great LOOP coverage.
– In the October 30th edition of the EC, I showed you video of the blasting and the mentioned Well, TBC released the above video today showing more. The controlled blasting here advances the excavation of the TBM launch shaft, reaching a final depth that enables safe tunneling beneath existing utilities. Each blast is engineered and monitored to minimize vibration—recorded at less than a washing machine’s level in the nearest building—and protect structures while ensuring public safety.
The shredded tire mats are used as additional noise reduction so the blasting is below that of passing trains.
■ NEURALINK:
– “Neuralink and ALS – Building Neural Interfaces to Restore Autonomy”! Thursday, 6th of November, at 8 p.m. ET. YouTube Live link HERE.
■ STARLINK:
– Red Lightning arrived in Jamaica via a cargo plane from Miami, facilitated by LIFT Non-Profit Disaster Logistics, and immediately coordinated the transfer of aid resources from customs to a secure warehouse. The distributed packages contain Starlink mini units, small battery banks, and solar chargers, with SpaceX providing free November coverage for unlimited internet connectivity powered solely by sunlight. That evening, a mini unit was deployed in west Jamaica to support hundreds of survivors affected by Hurricane Melissa. “Grateful to UPS, EcoFlow, SpaceX, and Salvation Army for everything they have done to make it possible. So thankful for these opportunities and everyone who makes it happen!“
– In response to Hurricane Melissa, the Starlink team donated over 800 kits to local governments and humanitarian organizations, including more than 600 in Jamaica, while enabling free service for customers in impacted areas. In the last 24 hours, the team distributed kits to organizations restoring connectivity in major hospitals and aiding distribution of food, water, sanitation supplies, basic household items, and children’s activity kits. Direct to Cell capabilities were activated via local partners, enabling mobile connectivity through apps and messaging for over 250,000 people in affected regions, with ongoing support for ground efforts and vital connectivity.
– Kyivstar plans nationwide Starlink Direct to Cell tests across most of Ukraine by the end of year, excluding borders, combat zones, and occupied areas, starting with free SMS for all subscribers, followed by voice and data in 2026. Tests target de-mining, emergencies, and rural connectivity using standard 4G phones and Kyivstar spectrum.
– Ontario will miss its 2025 rural broadband goal, pushing it to mid-2028. This is due to Ontario Premier Doug Ford scrapping the $100M Starlink contract back in March and paying an undisclosed break fee. Ford did this for political reasons against Donald Trump and Elon’s support for him all at the expense of his own constituents. There are no viable alternatives and the $4B program, targeting 700,000 households, remains active.
– DR Congo’s top operators, Africell, Vodacom, and Airtel, are having talks with SpaceX on a Starlink partnership for remote connectivity; Africell is in active talks, Vodacom is exploring complementary use, Airtel signed a group-level deal in May 2025.
– Vorakai Lda announced that CEO Jecry Carceres Marcal attended the Starlink Internet service launch ceremony at UNITAL University in Dili underscoring the company’s dedication to promoting technological progress and digital education in island country of Timor-Leste.
– SpaceX has opened positions for Starlink finance roles—Accounting Manager, Payments Manager, Senior Treasury Analyst, Tax Manager—in Bengaluru for its India hub.

The company will provide customer support for service inquiries and fraud reporting via the toll-free (888) 914-8344, and it warns users that fraudulent transactions can lead to irreversible financial losses, urging immediate reporting of suspected fraud. Thanks to @blankspeaker, we have the following screenshots.
– XChat will incorporate a safety number verification system, enabling users to confirm the security of communications with contacts. Users can view the unique safety number associated with a conversation, and any unexpected change signals potential interception or compromise, such as a man-in-the-middle attack, rendering subsequent messages insecure. This mechanism, flagged for rollout via the “xchat_show_safety_number_ui” update on October 29th. H/T @blankspeaker.

Critical thinking allows you to uncover the truth of our universe and remove the veils of deception. First principles thinking allows you to break down complex abstractions and build impactful and elegant systems. This mindset is necessary to innovate at unprecedented scale.”
