– First official Light Show at the Tesla Diner! 15 Cybertrucks. Posted by Josh “Pappy” Hazel (@JEHazel75)
– Tesla’s ex-AI Director, Andrej Karpathy (@karpathy), posted his love for the new Tesla Diner. “Really a kind of exhibit for the future. Plotting a road trip SF -> LA to charge Shadowfax.” Elon replied back, “Andrej, my long lost brother, let us work together again!” Yes, please!
– Elon posted that next year Optimus will bring the food to your car at the Tesla Diner. “We could put Optimus in a cute outfit too :)”
– According to reports, Tesla held preliminary discussions last week with Nevada officials, including representatives from Governor Joe Lombardo’s office and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles, to expand Robotaxi operations in the state. The talks have not progressed beyond initial communication, according to a statement from a Nevada DMV spokesperson. Tesla has not confirmed this.
– The Tesla Robotaxi app version 25.7.6 introduces a “Find My Taxi” button, which, when pressed, displays an arrow with distance to guide users to the vehicle’s stopping location if it’s not nearby. This takes the place of the previous version’s blue dot and dotted line navigation feature. H/T Joe Tegtmeyer (@JoeTegtmeyer).
– In Q2 2025, Tesla recorded one crash per 6.69 million miles driven with FSD and Autopilot, compared to the U.S. national average of one crash per 702,000 miles, based on 2023 NHTSA and FHWA data.
– Tesla is challenging Administrative Law Judge Juliet Cox’s July ruling in California’s Office of Administrative Hearings, which found Tesla liable for misleading consumers about Autopilot and FSD capabilities, potentially facing penalties like license suspension or corrective advertising. Tesla argues the ruling misrepresents its technology, citing a 2023 lawsuit dismissal, and plans to appeal to a superior court if adopted.
– American Home Contractors (@AHCDMV) latest Tesla Solar Roof install. “It proves that your roof can do more than just keep you dry, it can power your home, too. These next‑gen solar shingles blend seamlessly with your architecture while delivering clean energy and long‑term savings.”
– Tesla released a $100 LED ambient light strip to upgrade the frunk of your Model Y and 3 in the U.S. and Canada. The easy-to-install strip connects directly to the vehicle’s power supply, requires no batteries, features a constant current control module, and has an IP67 dustproof and waterproof rating. ■ SPACEX:
– Yesterday, launch 92 of Falcon 9 O3b mPower 9 & 10 took place from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida. This was the sixth flight for first stage booster It previously supported O3b mPOWER-E, Crew-10, Bandwagon-3, and two Starlink missions. The booster landed on drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. Both O3b mPower 9 and 10 were successfully deployed. This was SpaceX’s 444th re-flight of Falcon 9.
O3b mPower 9 & 10 are two high-throughput communications satellites in Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) built by Boeing and operated by SES.
– Today, launch 93 of Falcon 9 TRACERS took place from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. This is the 16th flight for first stage booster B1081. It previously launched Crew-7, CRS-29, PACE, Transporter-10, EarthCARE, NROL-186, Transporter-13, and eight Starlink missions. The booster returned to site and landed at Landing Zone 4 (LZ-4) at Vandenberg. All satellites were successfully deployed.
This is NASA’s Tandem Reconnection and Cusp Electrodynamics Reconnaissance Satellites (TRACERS) mission, consisting of two identical satellites that will orbit Earth in tandem (one following the other), will help understand magnetic re-connection and its effects in Earth’s atmosphere. Magnetic re-connection occurs when activity from the Sun interacts with Earth’s magnetic field. By understanding this process, scientists will be able to better understand and prepare for impacts of solar activity on Earth. Also on board this mission is SEOPS’ Epic Athena, Skykraft’s Skykraft 4, Maverick Space Systems’ REAL, Tyvak’s LIDE, and York Space Systems’ Bard.
– Construction of the Air Separation Unit (ASU) has officially begun at Starbase. This morning @StarshipGazer posted pics of the construction notices and land clearing progress.
– Cameron County halted water deliveries to nearly 40 properties along Texas Hwy 4 near Starbase. Starbase’s city administrator, Kent Myers, urged the county to resume the $15 monthly service, as Starbase lacks authority to deliver water. SpaceX offered to fill residents’ tanks but proposed a water system with an “unconditional and perpetual agreement” allowing termination at their discretion. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality permitted SpaceX’s water system construction last year.

■ STARLINK:
– As reported yesterday, Today T-Mobile officially launched T-Satellite; their SpaceX partnered Starlink Direct-to-Cell program. Link to sign up is in the SOURCES SECTION.
Per Elon, “No more dead zones!“
Per SpaceX’s Sr Director of Satellite Engineering, Ben Longmier (@longmier), “Starlink Direct to Cell is commercially live in the US for people that have T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T. Text directly to SpaceX satellites from your phone as you normally would (no pointing needed).”
– Japan’s KDDI announced a significant enhancement via its “au Starlink Direct” service by transmitting additional satellite signals. SMS send and receive times dropped from less than 2 minutes to less than 30 seconds through the additional signal emissions. KDDI can now deliver high-density radio waves across Japan for faster message and location sharing. “au Starlink Direct” connections surpassed one million in July, indicating strong demand from customers in areas beyond existing base station coverage.
Per SpaceX’s VP of Starlink Engineering, Michael Nicolls (@michaelnicollsx), “Ubiquitous connectivity provided by Starlink direct to cell in Japan.”
– French telco Orange has deployed a Starlink Performance antenna on its subsea cable-laying ship, Pierre de Fermat, through a collaboration with maritime communications firm Thalos. Thalos is testing the antenna’s reliability, robustness, and efficiency in real-life offshore conditions as part of its OceanBox solution.
– Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that the government is investigating SpaceX for alleged unauthorized work involving the Starlink network in Mexico. The Defense Ministry is examining potential violations of airspace regulations. They have not provide and specific details of the investigation.
– Starlink’s Nairobi Gateway was launched in January as the company’s second Point of Presence in Africa after Nigeria. It has reduced latency for Kenyan users by over 80%, from 120 milliseconds to 26 milliseconds! It has doubled upload speeds in Kenya and Rwanda and increased internet capacity across East Africa. ■ X:
– 2 years ago today, Elon set the bird free.
– X Japan’s Yoshiki Ito (@YoshikiIto3) held a seminar in Fukuoka today focused on effective X platform use and addressing a notable demand for advertising and brand guidance. On-site consultations were provided. “There are actually quite a few options for getting results. We exchanged information on the spot and made several appointments for future individual consultations.” Seminars will be held in Osaka and Nagoya tomorrow and the day after.
Meanwhile, X Japan’s Yohei (@airbreeze) presented at the DX Comprehensive Expo in Makuhari Messe, Tokyo, speaking on X’s latest updates, xAI and Grok 4. “It was both enjoyable and challenging to decide which of the over 300 features released and updated to discuss. Especially in just a 40-minute talk.”
■ xAI:
– Today, Supermicro CEO Charles Liang (@charlesliang) replied to Elon’s xAI goal of 50 million H100-equivalent AI compute units with an offer of their DCBBS and DLC-2 liquid-cooled systems, each supporting up to 2,048 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. The DCBBS system’s three-month deployment timeline challenges the industry norm. Liang’s proposal as a strategic bid to secure a key role in xAI’s infrastructure. “Love your big but achievable ambition, Elon! We are here ready to support your AI visions (Grok, Optimus, Robotaxi). Our DLC2 DCBBS will be the most energy efficient and the quickest way to power your AI Gigafactories!“
– xAI Infrastructure Lead, Alan McDonnell (@almc_d), noted that yesterday’s images of the cabling inside Colossus 2 are “a small part of a new DC Core network CLOS fabric that the infra teams designed, developed, and built in mere weeks.” Alan and his team are doing amazing, and shall I say, beautiful work.
